Thoroughly enjoyed this short story, and I was glad that it was a short because I couldn't put it down until I was done with it. Whether you have traveled with friends or not, J E Smith paints a picture that most of us can easily picture ourselves living - although maybe not surviving quite as well unless we are equally as fluent in the native language. The story is very well told with vivid detail that allows you to truly see each situation unfold as if you were there, and gets your pulse racing with a few of the unexpected encounters along the way. Highly recommended and worth the read!

Little Hell Single eBook J E Smith Reviews
We have all experienced this type of trip. I would like to see the disposable camera to go with this adventure!!
Comfortably situated in the dual traditions of tales of Americans abroad and tales of zany misadventure, this short piece makes for particularly good bus- or plane-reading. I enjoyed Smith's quirky voice and eye for comic detail (who knew there is an animal called a "buffalo llama," let alone that it resembles a shag carpet?) Of interest to those who enjoy travelogues, short fiction, and adventure.
I received a complimentary e-copy of this work for review.
This travel story about 4 friends and a bike trip gone wrong, in a foreign country where only one of them really speaks the language, was a great quick read. I have never had any experiences that are even similar this story, but the way Smith tells it I felt like I could have been there too. It is told from a perspective that blends the views of an author who has had time to mull over and craft the diction and syntax of his story, and of a friend telling you about their great adventure at your dinner table. An enjoyable read, and a great story.
And what a great cover image too! I really appreciate when it seems like some thought has been put into the cover art.
A great short story about a group of friends who get themselves into a series of problems and how they get out. After reading, my trips seem like a breeze compared to this.
It was a quick read. I wanted to know what would happen to the characters, but found it alright to skim to find out. The characters, plot, and writing seem youthful
Just finished this. I got it because it mentioned Ecuador, and I had enjoyed being there in my younger years. So I was curious what this "JE Smith" would have to say. And I am glad I read this A wonderful story, full of surprises, well narrated, an absolute delight. I love it! JE Smith Write more! Thanks!
